We are a publicly funded lab within a publicly funded institution focused on research and education. The lab has hosted and trained junior scientists of all backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Anybody who loves microbes is welcome here!
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES
The Navarre lab usually hosts one or two undergraduate students each summer, usually in the gap between 3rd and 4th years. Some of those students continue with a 4th year project in the lab. If you are interested in an undergraduate research opportunity please contact Professor Navarre with ‘Undergraduate research inquiry – ‘ followed by your name in the subject line. Please attach a CV/resume, an unofficial transcript, and a brief statement of interest by January 20th, 2026. We will conduct interviews in late January.
Research in the Navarre lab is aimed at understanding how bacteria co-exist with animals and each other to affect health and disease.
